Bat exclusion is the humane, legal way to get bats out of a building in Florida. Instead of trapping or harming them, we install one-way exclusion devices over active entry points. Bats fly out to feed at night but can’t get back in.
How bat exclusion works
- We confirm every active entry point during a bat inspection.
- Other gaps are sealed first, so bats can only leave through the exits we choose.
- One-way devices go over the active exits. FWC guidelines call for them to stay up at least four nights, when lows are forecast to be 50°F or higher.
- Once the bats are out, we remove the devices and seal the openings.
When exclusions can be done
Exclusions are allowed August 15 through April 15. During Florida’s bat maternity season (April 16 – August 14), young bats can’t fly yet, so excluding the adults would trap the pups inside.
Why choose a bat-only specialist?
Bats need different methods, timing and materials than other wildlife. We have worked exclusively with bats since 2004, and our work is backed by a 1-year warranty.
